Country singer Chely Wright has lived in the public eye for years with her music career, but privately, she felt like she was "hiding." Until recently she kept her sexual origin a secret before bravely coming out on "The Today Show."

"I feel like my life was in black and white before coming out and now with the help of the LGBT community, my life is now in color," she told an assembly of students at a school safety summit.

On behalf of The Gay Lesbian, and Straight Education Network, she led a focus group to tell adolescents about her journey to publicly acknowledging her sexuality. "I’m in awe of these young people and that at such young ages they have the great sense of self to stand up and they understand who they are and they’re willing to fight for it. It’s also a great testament to GLSEN and the great work that they’ve done," she told ET.

Jailed actress Lindsay Lohan got more visitors on Thursday, and a rally of one as a dedicated fan championed her release.

The Hollywood.tv cameras were there as Lindsay’s mother Dina and sister Ali arrived at the Century Regional Detention Facility, this time bringing large bags of fan mail for her to read.  

Also making an appearance at the facility to visit Lindsay was her friend Samantha Ronson, who can be seen running away from the paparazzi after she comes out of the jail.

An email now in the hands of police investigators shows that Mel Gibson apologized to his ex Oksana Grigorieva the day after he allegedly hit her in the face, RadarOnline reports.

The purported email was sent the day after an altercation in which Grigorieva alleges Gibson punched her twice in the head as she held their infant daughter Lucia, according to RadarOnline. Grigorieva has claimed that two of her teeth were damaged in the alleged altercation and that she also suffered a concussion.  

"Could you please call me. I want to tell you how unspeakably sorry I am," the news site quotes Mel’s email as saying. RadarOnline also reports that Gibson sent an earlier email to Grigorieva on the same morning that reads: "How’s your tooth?"

Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson will be the only two founding fathers of "American Idol" left when the show returns for season 10. The host offered his sentiments to the departing Ellen DeGeneres.

"Spoke with Ellen DeGeneres tonight. I will miss her on ‘Idol,’" Ryan tweeted. "She’s one of the kindest and most talented people in Hollywood!" The heartfelt message was posted just hours following Ellen’s announcement she’d be stepping down as a judge on "Idol" after only one year on the panel.

Thursday night also brought news that Jennifer Lopez will be getting a permanent seat at the judge’s table, multiple sources confirmed to ET. Back in January, original judge Simon Cowell declared season nine as his final on the show.

Sylvester Stallone has recruited a formidable team of action heroes for his explosive new movie, ‘The Expendables,’ and ET’s Kevin Frazier is with the veteran star/director, who pokes fun at his stunning physique at age 64, saying, "It’s just, like, I’m embalmed."

Vice President Joe Biden’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden, will be playing herself in an upcoming episode of "Army Wives," according to the Associated Press.

In the guest role, Biden will pay a visit to Fort Marshall. She’ll discuss issues facing military families and help to raise their spirits.

"I’m proud to be here today as a second lady, but I’m even more proud to be here as a military mom," she told the crowd. Biden is empathetic to the challenges facing families with loved ones enlisted in the armed forces. Her son Beau returned home last year after a one year stint in Iraq. He served as a member of the Army National Guard.

ET talks to host Jeff Probst to get the inside story on how the 20 new castaways will be divided into two tribes: Young vs. Old. The Espada Tribe will be made up of individuals over the age of 40, while the La Flor Tribe members will be 30 years and younger

ET: What can you tell me about the new season?

Jeff Probst: Early in casting, we decided we had a lot of good older people. And older people on "Survivor" means over 40, so bear that in mind. So Mark [Burnett] decided he wanted to do old vs. young, which is risky for us to do because one tribe could dominate the other and it would be over soon. Surprisingly, it was a very interesting experience early on. We have a great, fun cast.
