Just in: Paris Hilton is now responding to the John McCain television ad that compares Barack Obama’s star status to her and Britney Spears.
"Miss Hilton was neither asked, nor did she give permission, for the use of her likeness in the ad, and has no further comment," her rep tells ET.

Following the battle of the engagement bling (she says she’s keeping it, he thinks it should go to charity), reasons behind the ‘Bachelor’ break-up between Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas are now being revealed.
"I’m used to the Hollywood BS," Shayne, the daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas tells Us Weekly. "But it really got into Matt’s head."
But sources close to Matt tell Us a different story. "After he moved to L.A. and saw her constantly partying and clubbing, he realized that she wasn’t behaving like a woman who was ready to be in a serious relationship," the source says.

Halle Berry’s ex-hubby Eric Benet is speaking out about his former wife and her new baby girl Nahla, born this last spring to the actress and her model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
"From the pictures, she looks great," Benet tells Us Weekly. "I haven’t spoken to her — it’s been a few years now — but I’m happy for her."
Benet goes on to say that there’s no doubt that having Halle and Gabriel as parents, there’s no way the baby can’t be adorable.

The Yankee is playing hardball in his divorce!
Yankee all-star Alex Rodriguez isn’t backing down without a fight in his divorce case! In papers that will be filed today in Miami, A-Rod wants his prenup enforced and allegations of "extramarital affairs and other misconduct" removed from the record.
Rodriguez believes his marriage to estranged wife Cynthia is "irretrievably broken," but due to Florida being a no-fault divorce state, there does not have to be an explanation.
If A-Rod has to go to court to fight a challenge to the prenup and wins, he plans to recover from his wife any "reasonable attorney’s fees and costs."

One day after Republican presidential hopeful John McCain released an ad comparing Barack Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, Obama shot back with his own ad criticizing McCain’s persistent "attacks."
Obama was diplomatic yesterday when he put the kibosh on McCain’s ad, telling MSNBC, "I don’t pay attention to what McCain says." When asked about the ad, Obama said, "although I do notice that he doesn’t seem to have anything very positive to say about himself, does he?"

Hollywood.tv is on the scene as Lindsay Lohan and gal pal Samantha Ronson make a pit stop at an L.A. area gas station where Samantha goes without her signature hat, possibly to show off her new funky hair cut — which Lindsay clearly approves!
Later, the pair took to the streets to do some shopping.

L.C. says “The Hills” is real!
As fans count down the minutes until "The Hills" returns, Lauren Conrad is opening up about her MTV phenom, which she insists is very real! "I think ‘The Hills’ does pretty well because it’s reality, it’s not written." She tells Entertainment Weekly. "It’s not predictable. You don’t really know what’s going to happen."
MTV’s highest rated show returns on Aug. 18 at 10 p.m., and according to the mag, L.C. is in for more run-ins with her arch-frenemies, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, along with trips to New York and Las Vegas, where Brody Jenner winds up in a "casino jail," and a "teary blow-out that even had producers crying," between her and Audrina Patridge and Lauren "Lo" Bosworth.
L.C. tells EW that her celebrity status can be difficult at times — especially with all of the scrutiny that comes with it. "Honestly, I wish I could say I totally didn’t care, and people could say whatever they want about me … but there are days when it gets kind of difficult, where people are saying things about you, especially when there’s no truth to it."
