Christina Applegate says she is "profoundly saddened" by the recent death of her ex-boyfriend, 26-year-old Lee Grivas.

"Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life," Christina said in a statement to ET. "He is missed beyond words. He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, brother and all of his family and friends."

The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office confirmed to ET that the young man was found dead on July 1 at 5:25 p.m. at his home. The cause of death will be released pending the results of toxicology tests.
